Gazette Article
I am still waiting for confirmation of when the article submitted for the Gazette will appear. It is a dual-purpose article, acting primarily as a call-out for Artists, but also as a reminder to locals that the Shrine will be open for Heritage weekend and that they will be able to view an art display too. I submitted it in good time before all the other Heritage venues start advertising their events. Fingers crossed it will go in very soon (but will send a prompt to hopefully help it in!)
Local Artists response
Local Artists response has been really good so far - and all the emails and lists have been gone through and are now sent out.
There are a lot of artists who always appreciate the chance for an exhibition which is brilliant and this is what makes a display - having enthusiastic artists who love exhibiting and who help inspire other artists, who in turn inspire them (all this with the chance of a sale too).

Filling the pews with Art
This is a temporary blog to record the Art display at the Shrine, Whinney Heys Road, Blackpool.
This exhibition is being created especially for Heritage Weekend - Friday 12th, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September 2014.
Those of you who know me, understand how passionate I am about bringing artists together and creating opportunities for all artists to exhibit. I hope that this exhibition, despite it's lack of budget, is a lovely community experience for both artists and visitors.
The Shrine is such a magnificant building, although sadly needing some TLC. I feel that art is given a chance to breathe in this space as the building is so vast. It seems to take on a whole new life. Being placed next to other artists work, some of whom you may or not know, helps to establish a feeling of a huge group family exhibition, each piece helping the next, inspiring another and hopefully fulfilling its destiny to be displayed as pride of place in someone's house.
In return visitors get the opportunity to see and support both local artists and an important Blackpool heritage building.
